Inspired by Mary Tuma’s exhibition titled ‘Homes for the Disembodied’ exhibited in East Jerusalem in 2000.5 dresses made from 50 metres of continuous black silk, hung facing the same way is visually beautiful but holds a much deeper meaning. Paying tribute to the Palestinian women and they’re strength perceived as mere shadows during the war. The idea of empty dresses evoke a sense of loss or belonging.
